UL Solutions is honored to sponsor the student microgrid competition for the Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW) Energy Innovation Symposium 2023 taking place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on February 24th, 2023.
During the daylong conference, PGW will lead panel discussions on the clean energy transition and announce the winners of the academic microgrid competition.
Panel topics include:
- The Future Hydrogen Economy
- Low-Carbon Energy Technologies
- Our Clean Energy Future
For the renewable energy microgrid competition, student teams designed a microgrid for a hospital using HOMER Pro software. The goals of the microgrid goals include providing provide power during grid outages and cutting carbon emissions.
HOMER Software creator, Peter Lilienthal, served as one of the competition judges. The winner will be announced at the event. We hope to see you there!
